There are ten Wayans siblings, but references to the Wayans family or the Wayanses is usually for only half of the family - brothers Keenen, Damon, Shawn and Marlon, and sister Kim. Though each of them has done work as a solo performer, the bulk of nearly all of their most successful endeavors have been family affairs, causing their critics to dismiss the siblings' natural chemistry as blatant nepotism.

To wrap up her 2004 season, talk show mogul Oprah Winfrey interviewed all five of the siblings, marking their first time to all be interviewed together in over 14 years.^[1] There, Oprah declared the Wayanses "America's Funniest Family".
