Thomas Mikal Ford was born in Yonkers, New York on June 15, 1962.

Ford, is best known for his character Tommy Strawnn in the sitcom, Martin. Tommy was the most logical man for Martin Lawrence's jokes. But his size, not telling what his job is, and bald head was also a center of Martin's jokes as well. Ford has done dead-on impersonations of stereotypical African-American preachers.
