Tisha Campbell was born October 13, 1968 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Tisha Campbell's first TV appearance was at the age of 8, on episode #006 of the PBS show "The Big Blue Marble" (1974). The show featured stories on the life and culture of children from around the world. In her segment, Tisha was shown playing with her brother, going to school with her mother who was also her voice coach, and singing at a jazz concert in New York's Greenwich Village. Tisha's mother is also her manager.

Graduated from Newark Arts High School in Newark, New Jersey.

One of Tisha's most famous roles came from the hit movie House Party (1990) where she played Sidney. This is where she first met Martin Lawrence who had a role as Bilal. She also reprised the role as Sidney in House Party 2 (1991).

In 1992, Tisha joined the cast of Martin in 1992 as Gina Waters, Martin Payne's girlfriend turned wife. This is where Tisha met up with good friend and co-worker from The Little Shop Of Horrors Tichina Arnold who plays Pam her best friend. This is also where she met with Martin Lawrence again. Tisha ended up suing her co-star Martin Lawrence for sexual harassment. She abruptly left the show during its last season, and her character's disappearance was explained in the show's storyline as having left Detroit to run one of the L.A. offices.

Released an unsuccessful music album in the mid-1990s.

For awhile it seemed like nothing was going right for Tisha until she met her future husband Duane Martin. Duane and Tisha married in 1996 and produced one son named Xen on August 8, 2001. Says she named her son, Xen, with an X, because as she and husband Duane Martin were driving to an ultrasound they were listening to rapper Xzibit, and later in the ultrasound they saw that the baby was in the womb making Xzibit's signature sign with his arms crossed in an X. In 2001, Tisha won a role that she plays to this day. She plays Janet "Jay" Kyle wife of Damon Wayans character on My Wife and Kids.

When she is not with her family she is a member of Diva Simply Singing, a group which raises funds for minority AIDS projects. Tisha is also very good friends with Vivica A. Fox.
